Commercial cleaning guide
Commercial cleaning cost per square foot
A per-square-foot rate is useful for early budgeting, but it only becomes comparable when the facility, frequency, and scope are the same.

Common planning ranges
- General offices: $0.09–$0.17 per square foot per visit
- Medical and healthcare: $0.14–$0.29
- Industrial and manufacturing: $0.08–$0.20
- Retail spaces: $0.07–$0.15
The same building can price differently based on restroom count, kitchens, floor type, access hours, security, local labor, consumable supplies, waste handling, and periodic floor care.
How to calculate a monthly planning range
Multiply cleanable square feet by the low and high per-visit rate. Then multiply that result by visits per week and 4.33 average weeks per month. Separate recurring cleaning from initial deep cleaning and periodic work.
Calculate a commercial cleaning rangeHow to get a useful quote
Give each provider the same cleanable square footage, room counts, service schedule, supply responsibility, floor-care schedule, and exclusions. Ask for recurring and periodic work to be itemized so totals remain comparable.
